Dr. Harbach was horrible to deal with when my mom brought in our family dog last week for assessment of whether the dog should be put down or not. Dr. Harbach’s tone and attitude towards the situation was completely unacceptable. How would you like to be treated like that when your in such a vulnerable situation. Shame on you Dr. Harbach.
I have been a client of High Plains Veterinary Clinic for over a year now & typically I have had some what of a decent experience until yesterday, when I was faced with an extremely difficult situation that left me in dire need of help for my beloved pet. I was extremely disappointed by their lack of compassion & lack of empathy during this emergency situation involving my dog. She had come into contact with a porcupine for the third time within the past two months. Obviously, for that reason amongst others, out of my control finances were not in order at that given time to be able to pay for this visit upfront. My dog was clearly in pain & significant distress, which made the situation even more urgent. Despite all of this the vet just said that they "were sorry but they were unable to help me." They so kindly offered to wave the emergency vet fee and said that I would have to pay $200 upfront before services could be rendered. Ultimately just issuing my pet a death certificate because there was absolutely no way that would be possible for me to accommodate at that exact point in time, and they knew that. This was such a cold & disgustingly dismissive response at a time when my pet needed urgent care the most. From conversations within the community, it appears that the clinic may selectively assist clients experiencing situations such as these. Sadly, my experience suggested a disregard for both the pain my pet was enduring & the difficult circumstances I was facing as a beloved pet owner. While I do recognize veterinary clinics operate as businesses, I had hoped for some flexibility or grace during this distressing moment. Unfortunately, I was met with disconcern & zero remorse towards my pet & the disheartening situation that we were in. For those seeking a veterinary clinic that offers compassionate care regardless of financial hardships, I highly recommend that you consider other options elsewhere. Watford City Veterinary Clinic, is known for being extremely professional, supportive, & providing quality care for their clients & their pets no matter the circumstances. My dog would not be alive today if it weren't for their saving graces. Ultimately, this experience at High Plains Vet Clinic has shown me that they only seem to prioritize financial considerations over compassionate care and the actual well-being of the animals they are suppose to care so much about. Save yourself the potential loss of your pet & seek care somewhere that truly values your business & the life of your 4 legged family members. **DO NOT RECOMMEND HIGH PLAINS VETERINARY CARE TO ANYONE.**
Took my kitties here to get up to date on their shots, was a great experience. Everyone was very kind and helpful to myself and my pets.
I have been taking my animals to them for quite a few years. I really love High Plains! Their prices are reasonable compared to other veterinarians in the surrounding areas. I always recommend them to my friends, family and acquaintances.
Awesome place!
